BadAZ Bal is a full weekend of Balboa and Collegiate Shag in Mesa, Arizona, built for dancers who want both strong instruction and serious floor time. Thursday night social dancing kicks off this workshop weekend! Now in its 14th year, the event brings in top instructors Jeremy Otth and Julie Roman and blends focused workshops with live music, DJs, late-night dancing, and friendly competitions. If you’re looking to level up your dancing, connect with great partners, and spend a packed weekend immersed in swing, this one delivers.

Age Range
The average age is 20’s through 70’s. A huge age range comes out and dances here!
About The Cove Swing Club – Located Inside King Charles Plumbing Heating & Air
A fellow swing dancer with an HVAC business opened his warehouse to his fellow swing dancers, so look for the King Charles signage and red light. The floor space is 1000 sq. ft. with an additional 600 sq. ft. of lounge space.
Food and Drinks
There is free, filtered water right out of taps! There’s a convenience store close by and a few restaurants within two miles.
Air Conditioning
Yes. Currently a 5 ton AC, being upgraded to a 10 ton AC. The owner of the space owns an HVAC company and he swing dances – he knows just how important cool air is. Lucky us!
Parking
Parking is plentiful, free, and located all around the property.
Dance Guidelines
- Frequently wash/sanitize hands during the evening
- Do not attend if you are experiencing COVID symptoms, feel sick, or have been exposed. Help us keep the community healthy; stay home when not feeling well!
- Remember, NO always means NO. Keep in mind that more people than usual may want to limit the number of partners they dance with in an evening. Please be respectful of others’ choices and boundaries.
- We cannot guarantee a completely risk-free environment so please, dance at your own risk taking into consideration your personal health situation.
