You’ll see a variety of different dances on the dance floor\, including the Lindy Hop\, East Coast Swing\, Shag\, Balboa\, Charleston\, and sometimes a little Blues. \n  \nMusic\nThe music is created by live DJs who play a range of swing music from the 1900s to the 1940’s\, with a mix of fast and slow tempos. From big band to blues\, the DJs work hard to bring you the best variety of swing music and welcome requests. \n  \nAge Range\nThe average age at The Duce is twenties on up.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \nAbout The Duce \n \nThere’s over 15\,000 square feet of space at The Duce. After a recent break-in resulted in the loss of the venue’s audio system\, local dancers are coming together to help replace the equipment that keeps lessons\, social dances\, and community events running. Enjoy an evening of East Coast Swing and West Coast Swing with all-level lessons\, social dancing\, and a welcoming atmosphere while supporting a place that has brought people together through dance for years. Every donation helps keep the music playing and ensures The Cove remains a place where friendships grow\, confidence builds\, and dancers of all ages can connect. We hope you’ll join us for this Community Fundraiser Dance and help keep The Cove’s music playing for years to come.\nSupport The Cove! \nCan’t attend? Social dancing starts immediately after the lesson ends\, and you’ll see a variety of different dances on the dance floor\, including the Lindy Hop\, Six Count Swing\, Shag\, Balboa\, Charleston\, and Blues.  \n  \nMusic\nThe music is created by live DJs who play a range of swing music from the 1900s to the 1940’s\, with a mix of fast and slow tempos. From big band to blues\, the DJs work hard to bring you the best variety of swing music and welcome requests. Lots of guest DJs from the local scene stop in to practice and change up the night!) \n  \nAge Range\nThe age range is typically from people in their twenties to fifties\, with a skew towards the younger range. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \nAbout The Cove Swing Club – Located Inside King Charles Plumbing Heating & Air \n \n\nThe Cove Swing Club is hosted in the warehouse of a fellow swing dancer with an HVAC business. Look for the King Charles signage and red light. The venue features 1\,000 square feet of dance floor plus an additional 600 square feet of lounge space. \n  \nFood and Drinks\nThere is free\, filtered water right out of taps! There’s a convenience store close by and a few restaurants within two miles. \n  \nAir Conditioning\nYes. Currently a 5 ton AC\, being upgraded to a 10 ton AC. The owner of the space owns an HVAC company and he swing dances – he knows just how important cool air is. Lucky us! The owner of the space owns an HVAC company and he swing dances – he knows just how important cool air is. There’s a convenience store close by and a few restaurants within two miles. \n  \nAir Conditioning\nYes. Currently a 5 ton AC\, being upgraded to a 10 ton AC. The owner of the space owns an HVAC company and he swing dances – he knows just how important cool air is. The newest venue features a pristine\, brand new dance floor for your best swing moves. Relax and grab RO water and ice right out the taps in the lounge after you’ve worked up a sweat. If you used to swing dance at The Duce with Jonathan Lindsey\, this is our new home. Come swing out with us!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout The Lesson and Social Dancing\nDuring the lesson taught by Jonathan Lindsey\, you will learn a little East Coast Swing along with a little Lindy Hop (they use 6 and 8 counts). Social dancing starts immediately after the lesson ends\, and you’ll see a variety of different dances on the dance floor\, including the Lindy Hop\, Six Count Swing\, Shag\, Balboa\, Charleston\, and Blues. (If you used to come to swing dancing at The Duce\, this is our new home!) \n  \nMusic\nThe music is created by live DJs who play a range of swing music from the 1900s to the 1940’s\, with a mix of fast and slow tempos. From big band to blues\, the DJs work hard to bring you the best variety of swing music and welcome requests. Lots of guest DJs from the local scene stop in to practice and change up the night!) \n  \nAge Range\nThe age range is typically from people in their twenties to fifties\, with a skew towards the younger range. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \nAbout The Cove Swing Club – Located Inside King Charles Plumbing Heating & Air \n \n\nA fellow swing dancer with an HVAC business opened his warehouse to his fellow swing dancers\, so look for the King Charles signage and red light. The floor space is 1000 sq. ft. with an additional 600 sq. ft. of lounge space.  \n  \nFood and Drinks\nThere is free\, filtered water right out of taps! There’s a convenience store close by and a few restaurants within two miles. \n  \nAir Conditioning\nYes. Currently a 5 ton AC\, being upgraded to a 10 ton AC. The owner of the space owns an HVAC company and he swing dances – he knows just how important cool air is. Lucky us! \n  \nParking\nParking is plentiful\, free\, and located all around the property. \nDance Guidelines\n\nFrequently wash/sanitize hands during the evening\nDo not attend if you are experiencing COVID symptoms\, feel sick\, or have been exposed. Help us keep the community healthy; stay home when not feeling well! \nRemember\, NO always means NO. Keep in mind that more people than usual may want to limit the number of partners they dance with in an evening.
